Results of CKIC's First Ever Web Survey For the entire month of January, Chris Knott Insurance asked visitors to its website to consider what was most important when buying insurance for their car. The results, though predictable, are quite alarming. Just over 77% of respondents considered the cost of cover most important, while more than 16% thought that the level of cover provided was key. Only 6% voted that the efficiency of the insurer’s claim service was the most important thing to consider. This begs the question - if someone provided a very basic policy with a poor claims service but at very cheap rates, would the consumer be satisfied? Maybe, until it came to a claim and they found that, either they weren’t covered for that particular peril or that the claims process was so poor that the claim drifted along aimlessly and the costs soared - which in turn affected the next year’s premium!
